They claim to offer exclusive deals which may entice the viewer into signing up for the newsletter. When the pop up appears, it greys out the website, making it unusable so you have to address the newsletter pop up before continuing to browse the website. This is an effective way to force the viewer into getting more involved with the brand which may lead to them spending more money at the company.
