Props and Costumes

We intended to keep our music video basic in terms of what to use for props and costume.

The main prop we used was the car. this was a very effective prop as it allowed us to have many more possibilities when it came to filming the video. The car also relates to our audience of young adults, this is due to the fact that at this age people will be starting to pass their driving test which leads to their attention to be towards the car and therefore be more intrigued with the music video and feel a connection with the character. We used this to get many of our shots of the surrounding town as well as filming our lip syncing section inside of the car. Otherwise we would use the setting to use as props e.g. the arcade machines. This kind of setting could appeal to our target audience as a casino is a place of amusement that attracts a lot of teenagers and young adults as a place of amusement.

The costumes were kept basic. We aimed to have a casual look as it is just someone driving and walking around a town on his own. This consisted of the common clothing that a young adult would wear e.g. jeans t-shirt and trainers. We felt this would be very effective at keeping our audience engaged as they would feel that they have more in common with the actor in the video, so therefore, feel more obliged to watch it. There is no specific story or event behind our video so there was no need to dress in a different way than normal.
