Digipak

TEMPLATE FOR THE DIGIPAK

1 - This is the first verse and chorus of Day N' Nite that will go on the inside cover of the digipak, we kept it simple and made the lyrics the sole focus of this part of the digipak. The black and white contrast ensures that it is easy to read, it is also an indirect reference to our song "Day N' Nite" with black and white being a similar binary opposite (a theory coined by Levi-Strauss) to daytime and nighttime.

2 - This will go on the space where the disk is kept. It would be no use putting text or some kind of information on this part of the digipak because it may be overlooked because the disk would be covering it at time. If, however the disk was removed the indentations for the disk to be kept inside may distort the image behind and continue to cause issues if anything was written there. As a result, we decided to opt for simple aesthetics that would give the digipak more of an interesting look. The contrasting dark colours and flashing neon lights fit in very well with our video that we have produced, therefore we feel this would be a good choice for when we put art into our digipak. 

3 - Ditto from the first segment. The only difference is that this is the second verse, the chorus is still included and is identical to that of the first segment.

4 - We felt that having the star image inside the digipak was necessary. Here we picked a picture that presented the main actor as powerful, the low-angle shot makes him appear to be bigger and more influential and it demonstrates his strength over the audience and presents him to be more important. This highlights the fact that this is the main focus of our music video.

5 - The reason for putting this image on the front is because we thought have the main star on the front of the digipak would make the most sense since he is the icon for the music video we have produced. He is the only actor in the video so therefore it would make sense to also make him the centrepiece of the digipak.

6 - Here is what we would put on the back of the digipak. We thought this would be a good choice as it could link to the front image, where he starts off walking towards you but once you have finished with the digipak it appears as if he is walking away. We kept the theme of bright neon lights in contrast to the night as our main form of aesthetics so our digipak is consistent all the way through.

This is what it looks like when the template is filled in as well as some other things added e.g. a title and name of artist on digipak as well as a bar code on the back.
